Dear Mr Marshall,

I am writing to ask why you have still not banned puppy farming in NSW.

Despite your claims, puppy farming is still LEGAL in NSW. Under our current laws a business can operate an intensive factory farm of 600 dogs living in tiny pens and force them to give birth to as many litters as their body can cope with: this is a puppy farm.

Already because of your inaction, NSW is fast becoming the puppy farming capital of Australia. VIC's new tougher regulations to stamp out puppy farms and stop the overbreeding of dogs has caused puppy farmers to flood across the NSW border. Councils and the NSW community are demanding action. You must listen and act on their concerns.

Multiple RSPCA raids have also exposed the horrific cruelty that occurs at these factory farms - but these raids are not good enough. We need to stop the cruelty before it starts. That is why I urge you to stop skirting around the issue and ban puppy farming for good.

This is an issue of serious public concern. Please, support an end to puppy farming and protect dogs in NSW.
